Made in the Shade wholeheartedly welcomes Adam and Katie Krause to our family of owners. We are ecstatic that they will represent the Made in the Shade Brand and service the Central Oregon community supplying beautiful custom window fashions and take advantage of the rapidly growing area and their community connections. Our corporate team and fellow owners are excited to help them every step of the way.
Adam joins Made in the Shade well accustomed to being self-employed. He owns and continues to operate a thriving insurance agency and is well known throughout the community. His business savvy will be highly complemented by Katie who brings the artistic flair to the organization with a background as an art teacher.
What hobbies/interests do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Like many parents of young children, most of our spare time is spent being involved in our kid’s activities. And we love it! We are also very involved in our church, rural community events and Adam has a hobby-business as a mobile DJ. When we have the opportunity both of us like to travel, golf, and spend time in the outdoors enjoying our property and the spectacular Oregon view.
Tell us about your family and their interests.
We have an 8 year old boy named Quinn, and a 10 year old girl named Ellie. Quinn loves soccer, basketball and golf. Ellie can’t get enough of dance, art and musical theater. We like to play pickleball together, play Mario Kart, and have family dance parties. Of course, we also enjoy our time with our two cats, Cali and Mr. Boombooms.
What appealed to you about the Made in the Shade opportunity?
We enjoy the flexibility and freedom of owning our own business. Even though we’ve already started one and are successful with it, we are excited to start a new venture and learn something new together.
What are your immediate business goals? (Year 1)
We plan to hit the ground running after our initial training is complete. We have been working hard the last few months getting everything set up for our business so that we’ll be positioned to begin selling in August. We are looking forward to reaching out to our market to identify our biggest opportunities and targeting those to start. We already have a comprehensive list of people who are waiting for us to get up and running!
What are your long-term business goals?
One of our long-term goals is to achieve consistent year-over-year sales once the both of us can work the business on a full-time basis. We hope to grow Made in the Shade Central Oregon to the extent that it can be eventually passed forward to our children who will learn over the years working by our side.
