Everyone at Made in the Shade is thrilled to welcome Heather and Brandon Jackson to the Made in the Shade family of owners. Based in West Cincinnati, they both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their new window fashions business and the corporate team is committed to support them on their exciting new venture.
Professional background
Heather’s professional background was primarily in the dental industry. She graduated as a Dental Assistant but also served as the Office Manager and spent four years in the financial sector which provided Heather many of the skills necessary to own and operate a business.
Brandon comes to Made in the Shade with significant window covering experience having worked for a local window fashions retailer for six years. He started out installing blinds, shades and shutters but quickly illustrated that he possesses selling skills and has enjoyed great success in both roles. He has also gained knowledge on running a business as he was frequently tasked with running the business while the owner was traveling.
The combined skills, experience and fortitude that Heather and Brandon bring to their Made in the Shade business will be invaluable in building their future success as business owners.
What hobbies/interests do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Both Brandon and I enjoy the outdoors. We spend much of our free time swimming, camping, enjoying visiting with friends around a campfire and taking our kids to the park. We love to travel to our favorite vacation destination Myrtle Beach. I also am a photography enthusiast and Brandon loves to sample the newest dining experiences in and around Cincinnati.
Tell us about your family and their interests.
We have three wonderful children. Adrianna, 11, enjoys making bracelets, spending time with family, swimming, dancing, tumbling, playing video games, going on vacation, camping, and spending weekends with grandparents.
Abel, 6, enjoys playing video games, playing outside with neighbors, jumping on his trampoline, going to art class, swimming and playing with his sisters. He also loves tee-ball, scouts, and making smores by the campfire.
Izzy, 2, enjoys playing with her baby dolls and pretending to cook for the family in her play kitchen. She loves to play outside and jump on the trampoline. She enjoys swimming with the family and kicking her soccer ball.
Some of our favorite vacation activities include Broadway at the Beach, dinner shows, dolphin tours, zip lining, para-sailing, riding on the banana boat, and relaxing on the beach .
What appealed to you about the Made in the Shade opportunity?
We recognized that Made in the Shade was still a young company that has been growing steadily for 20 years. We wanted to contribute to the continued growth of the organization while building our own new business. Since there was only one other Made in the Shade location in the Cincinnati area, we felt that there is great potential for future expansion as well. Most of all, we loved the family culture at Made in the Shade as opposed to the corporate feel at others we considered.
