“I Wish I did it Sooner!”

We joined Made in the Shade in August of 2010 and have never looked back. After being in sales most of my career, and then having a baby, I was looking to get back into the workforce. However, I wanted to do something different.

I had never owned a business and I didn’t have any window covering experience, but I was drawn to the idea of both. Upon research with phone calls, emails and compiling all of the offerings, it was an easy decision to purchase a territory from Made in the Shade. The price point for the generous territory, and not having to pay franchise fees, were most the favorable considerations.

Additionally, Cathy Morse is the glue that ties this organization together so well. Her knowledge, support and friendship made this large learning curve and new business an easier and enjoyable process.  From the beginning, we had a vision of growing this business with the builder market and it has been wonderful and rewarding. It’s been a lot of work owning my own business, but worth every moment and every penny. 

We have expanded our territory, added sales people, and continue to grow, especially with referral customers. Our valued referrals are the best type of business we could ask for! I continue to learn as a business owner and as an individual daily, and enjoy my job more than anything I’ve ever done.

I only wish I would have done this sooner and would recommend owning a Made in the Shade franchise to anyone who is considering it.
