Made in the Shade Blinds and More would like to welcome aboard one of our newest partnerships, Brad Hicks and David Richardson of traditional, yet trendy Durham and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. These two enthusiastic owners and their families are both long-time residents of North Carolina and are eager to service their community and surrounding areas!
As if he was always meant to be a Made in the Shade owner, David spent years in residential interior finishing. With this experience and David’s high-quality standards, his clients can be sure to have nothing but the best experience from consultation to installation! Brad’s experience lies within software development where he spent 17 years at Dell. He is excited to begin his journey with Made in the Shade, meeting new clients and helping them find the perfect solution that fits their style and budget.

First and foremost, the main appeal of the Made in the Shade opportunity for Brad and David was the feel of family and the way they were welcomed into the business. They were also drawn to the amount of guidance and support they received. This is exactly what “we need to run a good business in a way that brings joy to those with which we work.”
Within their first year, Brad and David are striving to develop a solid base of happy, satisfied clients and financial well-being for their families, hoping to gross approximately $250,000 in sales. Brad would also love for his uncle to be able to jump into the business full-time.
Long-term, this ambitious duo would like to be a well-established business within their area, having made a name for themselves and becoming the “go-to” for window treatments in their community and surrounding areas. Although this is Brad’s and David’s long-term goal, we are quite confident that it will happen for them much sooner than later!
