Steven brings a wealth of creative talents and strategic skills to employ in his new career with Made in the Shade. He has successfully held sales and/or marketing positions for the past 20+ years, ranging from very sophisticated digital marketing to selling Oreos! As a seasoned entrepreneur, Steven currently owns and operates a beard oil/balm ecommerce store, called Black Shield Beard Co.
Steven confidently states: “Sales is really fun, yet extremely challenging. It’s always a pleasure meeting new people in all walks of life. This is what makes the process so worth it!”

When asked what appealed to him the most regarding the Made in the Shade Blinds and More opportunity, Steven stated that the MITS core values lined up with his. The family oriented environment and the synergy of all the MITS dealers was of particular value to him.
According to Steven,
You can see and feel the positive culture. Cathy is a wonderful person to be around, extremely intelligent, and a very positive person. I want to work and be surrounded by this type of people. Cathy has also been very responsive. I really enjoy that aspect. It makes me feel comfortable as an owner.
Steven’s immediate business goal is to ensure that he breaks even with his initial investment within the first year, though he hopes to accomplish this even sooner! His goal thereafter is to continue to gain market share on Long Island and become a recognizable brand.
As far as long-term goals, Steven definitely has his priorities in order. He endeavors to be the best window covering company in New York and to ensure that his family is well provided for. According to Steven, “They mean the world to me.”
Steven enjoys running, rowing, reading, playing hockey and basketball, and going to the park and beach with his family. Last, but certainly not least, Steven enjoys watching his favorite NY sports teams: “Lets GO Mets, Jets, and Islanders!!”
