Made in the Shade is overwhelmingly pleased to welcome Mark and Julie Ham to our ever-growing family of owners. The individual talent and prior business experience that both Mark and Julie bring combine for a solid foundation to launch and build their new business. We are excited to support and assist them every step of the way!
Professional background
Mark brings a wealth of experience to the new Made in the Shade having owned and operated multiple Jimmy John’s restaurants and a dry-cleaning business.
Julie enjoyed a career in property management prior to starting a family. She feels blessed to be a stay-at-home mom for many years to raise their boys. The past few years she worked as a reading specialist at an elementary school and loves working with kids.

Tell us about your family and their interests.
Mark grew up on a farm in Southwest Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska. He eventually moved to Denver to open the dry-cleaning business. I am a Colorado native. I grew up in the small town of Eaton where my family-owned a cattle feeding business and attended the University of Northern Colorado.
We recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and have three amazing boys. Our oldest recently graduated from the University of Oklahoma while our twins are high school Juniors hoping to play college lacrosse.
What appealed to you about the Made in the Shade opportunity?
We loved the idea of a simple service business model and working directly with customers. Mark likes being involved in all aspects of window treatments – from sales to installations. I love decorating and making homes beautiful!
