Please give a great, big Made in the Shade family welcome to new owners, Jay and Kristie Ethridge of Lewis Center, Ohio. Lewis Center is located just outside North Columbus, so Jay and Kristie have been busy establishing their business and serving their large community.
Kristie and Jay have unquestionable business experience when it comes to sales and accounting, which certainly gives them an advantage as new owners. Jay has an extensive background in sales management, manufacturing, and industrial distribution, while Kristie’s accomplishments lie within IT and recruiting for Chase Bank.
Having worked in the corporate world for the majority of their careers, Jay and Kristie recognized many of the crucial and invaluable business features that Made in the Shade offers their new owners. What appealed to them most about the franchise opportunity was the extensive product line, the range of territory available, no monthly fee, and the amount of support offered, both by their individual representative and on the corporate level.
Kristie and Jay have a detailed outline for reaching their first-year goals. For the first two months, they intend to practice their newly taught consultation, sales, and maybe even installation techniques with family, friends, and even in their own home. Months 3 through 5 will include moving forward with more outside appointments, sales, marketing and networking. By month 6, they want to have generated consistent activity allowing Kristie to work for the business full time as it continues to grow.
Moving towards the long term, Jay plans to join Kristie in the business full time, in order to meet their goals of generating $500,000- $600,000 by year two! They also plan to hire an additional sales consultant and an installer.
This inspiring, determined couple enjoy working out, hiking, traveling, and spending time cheering on their 16-year-old son Jake at his track events! Jay likes to relax with a round of golf, and (lucky for us), Kristie is very artistic and enjoys decorating!
