Welcome Blake Wedl – The New Face of Made in the Shade Appleton
We’re thrilled to celebrate a familiar name to the Made in the Shade family—Blake Wedl, the new owner of Made in the Shade Appleton!
Blake is no stranger to window treatments—or to the Made in the Shade brand. His journey began back in 2009 when he worked alongside his father, Scott, helping with sales and installations across Southern Wisconsin. It was clear early on that Blake had a natural eye for design and a real talent for working with people to transform their spaces.
Now, as of March 2025, Blake has officially purchased the Appleton territory, expanding his leadership into new neighborhoods and bringing his years of experience to even more homes and businesses across the region.
But Blake’s story doesn’t stop at window coverings.
He also serves as an officer in the Wisconsin National Guard, where he’s honed a strong foundation in leadership, discipline, and professional growth. That same spirit of service and excellence is something he brings to every consultation, installation, and client conversation.
Blake and his wife, Ashley—who has recently come on board full-time to help manage daily operations—live in Menasha, WI, with their three young children. Whether they’re cheering at kids’ soccer games, supporting Girl Scouts, or volunteering with the Wisconsin National Guard Association, the Wedl family stays busy, grounded, and connected to their community.
When Blake isn’t working with clients or attending Guard events, you can probably find him laser engraving, perfecting his lawn, or enjoying time with family at the cabin in Northern Wisconsin.
He’s passionate about making homes more comfortable, stylish, and functional—with window treatments that match every lifestyle and aesthetic. From cordless and child-safe shades to smart home integration, Blake is ready to help clients design the perfect solution and bring their vision to life.
